On Saturday September 5th, 2009 competitive eater Peter Czerwinski, otherwise known as “Furious Pete” will perform an eating stunt on the main stage at Burlington Ribfest in support of the MS Society of Canada. Furious Pete will be given 10 pounds of ribs and people will be allowed to guess how long it will take him to eat it. This fundraiser is being organized by George Tsioutsioulas and Igal Hecht who are creating a documentary on Pete Czerwinski which we understand will be aired in 2010 on Omni Television and the Biography Channel. Please be advised that the organizers of this event have committed to donating all of the proceeds to the MS Society of Canada’s Mississauga and Halton Chapters. Pete is very passionate about this because his mom is currently struggling with multiple sclerosis so naturally this is a cause that means a lot to him. The fundraising doesn't end there. We are also in the process of organizing a school tour for Pete to share his story with students. You see, Pete is not just one of the world's best competitive eaters, ironically enough he is also a former anorexic and a current body builder. Stay tuned for more details and please help in any way you can!
