I hope you’re all doing great on this Tuesday morning!
I’m listening to the Howard Stern show right now on Sirius XM- it’s the one thing that keeps me sane during the day so I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. The topic at hand as I write this blog is IQ tests. Howard is planning on setting up some IQ tests for his staff so should be interesting to hear what the results are. Everyone is taking bets on who’s stupider. Are these tests still given out?? Have any of you ever taken this test? There’s a few people I can think of that I would love to have examined.

IQ tests aside, I’ve been extremely busy these last few weeks getting ready for Hot Docs and doing a bunch of press. Hopefully you’ve all seen or read the various coverage. We’ve been featured in the National Post, the Globe & Mail, the Scarborough Mirror, Now Magazine, Breakfast Television, NewsTalk 1010, 680 News, eTalk, Post City Magazine, CBC, AOL, Daytime Toronto, Doc Space, York Region Newspaper, Omni, Suite 101, Associated Press, Bravo and Toronto Life Magazine.

Well, the big premiere of THE STORY OF FURIOUS PETE is this Friday and I’m happy to report that tickets have sold out for the Royal Cinema!! There’s still some tickets available for the second screening at the Cumberland theatre. Hope you can all make it out…it’s gonna be a good time! I’m still working out the details but it looks we’re going to set up a little watermelon eating contest before the screening. News cameras are welcome to come out and cover the contest. Also, if anybody out there wants to go head to head with Furious Pete, start doing your stretching exercises NOW!

Ok, so here it is.

At 9:30am I was at a press conference as the announcements were made for the line-up for Hot Docs 2010. I’ve been sitting on this news for a weeks now and it’s been killing me so indulge me as I bust out the caps to say:

I AM VERY PROUD AND EXCITED THAT MY DOCUMENTARY HAS BEEN SELECTED TO APPEAR IN THE LARGEST DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL IN NORTH AMERICA…AND ONE OF THE BIGGEST IN THE WORLD!!

After the press conference, Pete and I did a bunch of interviews with Bravo, CP24, Etalk/CTV, Rogers TV, Canadian Press, National Post, CBC, and Toronto Star. It was strange being on the other side of things after spending 17 years being the guy on TV who asks the questions. There really is an art form in learning how to say the same thing differently every time!

Anyway, I will be posting those interviews as soon as possible.

Personally, I’m very excited about this new chapter because G.I. Productions has some very interesting projects in the works and I can’t wait to share them with everybody!

First thing on the menu is THE STORY OF FURIOUS PETE.

By the way, let me say that it’s been awhile since my last post so allow me to apologize for my sporadic updates.
My excuse is that we’ve been busy putting the finishing touches on the documentary. Speaking of which, without giving away too much, I just want to say that I’m VERY HAPPY with how it all unfolded.

This is a story that will hopefully inspire, shock, touch, entertain, and gross you out.

It’s a fun little rollercoaster ride.

Watch for it when it airs on Omni sometime in 2010. Before that we’ll have a big premiere at a theater so I hope that you can all make it out for that. More details to follow…

Right now, we’re entering the doc into various film festivals around the world so let’s see what happens in the next few months….

I’m hoping that we can cut a new trailer for THE STORY OF FURIOUS PETE in the next little while so make sure you check back for that.
